Terms & Conditions

Mena Ceramics reserves the right to cancel or change the date of a group booking, single session or workshop where necessary. By booking on any of our workshops, or single sessions you agree to abide by the terms & conditions as laid out below.  We reserve the right to make amendments to the workshop content without notice should circumstances beyond our control arise.

Payment Terms

Pottery Workshops and Single Sessions

All payments should be made in full at the time of booking. Bookings can be made via our online system. We can not confirm your place until we receive full payment.

Group Bookings

We require a non-refundable deposit to secure your place.  We will send you an invoice detailing the agreed date for the final payment. Final payment is due no less than 24 hours before the workshop commences.

Gift Vouchers

We only issue and accept e-vouchers which can be redeemed on our website www.menaceramics.co.uk. E-vouchers can be used towards workshops, group bookings and items from our collection. Refunds are not available on e-voucher purchases nor can these be exchanged for cash. E-vouchers will not be honoured beyond their expiry date.

Refreshments

It is your responsibility to inform us in advance of any allergies or special dietary requirements. Mena Ceramics will provide tea, coffee and water as refreshments throughout the duration of your workshop. If you would like to bring your own refreshments then you are welcome to do so (this includes alcohol).. If a large amount of refreshments are being bought please notify Mena Ceramics so that an easy access area can be set up before your arrival.

Cancellation

Pottery Workshops and Single Sessions

If you, the purchaser, decide to cancel within seven days of a booked session the session will still be charged for at the full fee.

Cancellations with prior notice of seven from the session date will mean that the session will be transferred up to the same value (subject to availability), but that no refund will be offered.

Group Bookings

A deposit is required to secure your group booking. If you cancel within two weeks of the workshop start date, this deposit will not be refunded and it will not be possible to defer the payment to another date. Full payment is required at least 24 hours before the group booking date. If you decide not to attend you will not be refunded.

Cancellation by Mena Ceramics

If we, Mena Ceramics, cancel your workshop, single session or group booking for any reason we will do our best to organise an alternative date within a reasonable period of time.  If this is not possible, or you are unable to attend an alternative date, we will refund the full purchase price within 10 working days.

Health and Safety

Visitors attend the Apple Tree Pottery studio at their own risk and must be aware of the inherent hazards of a working pottery studio environment.  These risks include the use of sharp tools, exposure to chemicals and high temperatures amongst other things.

We recommend that all visitors should wear appropriate clothing (it may get stained) and comfortable, flat shoes with non-slip soles and covered toes. Long hair must be tied back for wheel work and jewellery and watches are best left at home.

Please note that Mena Ceramics are not liable for any damage that occurs to clothing or loss of valuables.

All visitors attending pottery workshops, single sessions and group bookings will receive a briefing on health and safety before commencing their session.

Equipment & Glazes and Kiln Firing

Mena Ceramics will supply all of the equipment, materials and tools required to complete the content previously agreed for that session. Due to the nature of the materials that we work with we cannot guarantee the outcome of each creation. Clay is a natural material and at times can be unpredictable. Mena Ceramics can not be held accountable in the event that the clay does not fire as it should, or that the glaze does not come out as anticipated.
